Job Overview

Rightworks is launching a strategic growth initiative designed to expand beyond our core markets and accelerate new revenue streams. We are seeking a General Manager to lead this effort end-to-end.

You will build, test, and scale a new line of business with full ownership across strategy, execution, and results.

As the General Manager, SMB MSP Solutions, you will lead a nimble, end‑to‑end commercial team responsible for acquiring, onboarding, and growing SMB customers for Rightworks’ SMB managed services portfolio.  The vast majority of these customers will come from expanding the hosted QuickBooks relationship we have with over 50,000 current SMB customers who run the gamut across verticals and range in size from 1 to over 1,000 FTEs.

You will operate with autonomy, speed, and accountability — partnering with executive leadership while independently driving day-to-day decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the P&L for the Project, with full accountability for revenue, cost, and profitability
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategy, including target verticals, ICP, pricing, and packaging
  • Build and scale the business from zero, including hiring the team and establishing operating rhythms
  • Drive sales and pipeline development, bringing a strong MSP-informed GTM motion
  • Make critical business decisions across product positioning, partnerships, and market entry
  • Navigate and influence cross-functional teams within Rightworks (Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations)
  • Operate with speed and independence, minimizing need for executive escalation
  • Deliver structured insights including:
  • Competitive win/loss analysis
  • Vertical market validation
  • Product and service gap identification
  • Report progress and outcomes to the CEO and executive sponsor on a regular cadence

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or other related field
  • 10-12 years of proven sales or GTM leadership experience within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
  • Background at a recognized MSP such as: Thrive, Ntiva, Dataprise, CMIT Solutions (corporate), NexusTek, or smaller organizations
  • Experience owning revenue and go-to-market decisions for a business line or division
  • Deep understanding of IT buyer sales motions and managed services selling outside of the accounting vertical
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale a business from the ground up (not just operate an existing one)
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to push back, influence, and drive alignment across functions
  • Comfortable operating in lean, ambiguous environments without large support infrastructure
  • Success requires a leader with the experience, credibility, and authority to:
  • Make decisions quickly
  • Challenge internal friction
  • Drive outcomes without dependency

Eligibility Requirements

  • This role is open to US Citizens or permanent residents authorized to work in the United States. Rightworks LLC is unable to offer visa sponsorship.

  • Due to specific state regulations, we are unable to accept applications from residents of California, Hawaii, or Alaska.

  • Relocation will not be offered for this position.

Compensation

Our compensation range for this role, which includes base salary and variable bonus component ranges from $220,000 to $290,000 annually, and is determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.

Benefits

To provide best-in-class solutions, we need a best-in-class team. We offer competitive salaries to recruit the best talent. We provide company-paid short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance and a generous 401K match. We offer flexible PTO, and numerous paid holidays, affording you the time to be there for what is important in your life. We encourage giving back to our communities by providing paid volunteer time off. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer!
